MAMAS' STORY
Mamas’ is a very energetic rescue that we adopted. She was actually the first rescue that we ever got from a shelter. Needless to say, we were not prepared. At the time we adopted Mamas, she was three years old, had spent more than half of her life in a no-kill shelter, spent some time with an owner, and the rest was living on the streets. She even broke her leg at some point, and it appears that it healed on its own, leaving her with a little crooked back leg. We knew that with that injury alone, came its own challenges, but adding the amount of energy she had, it took things to a whole other level.
My husband and I were so unprepared for what we had gotten ourselves into. We were so overwhelmed that we actually thought we had made a mistake adopting her. But one look into her eyes, and knowing her story, we couldn’t give up on her. I remember telling him, “If there was someone who could come and get her, and take her on a walk, and not a normal walk but something that would wear her out, that would be amazing!”
So the idea of starting this business began, a way to give families who don’t have the time to go for long walks in the middle of the day due to work, kids, etc. We come to your home, pick up your pup, and take them on a hiking adventure! This not only gives them the exercise & socialization they so desperately need but also gives families a little peace in the home.

PAWNOLA MOUNTAIN PUPS was founded by a group of dog lovers who wanted to provide a better alternative to traditional dog walking services. We are passionate about dogs and are committed to providing them with the love and care they deserve. Our hikes take place at the beautiful Panola Mountain State Park.
